Soothsayer*, Na..

Guys, its fashion to be brimming with Smiles and pre-posterously Positive.  We all relate well to people with humble beginnings; so everybody seem to become imposters of humble beginnings and that they made fortunes from the dungeons of the world.

Most of the people appreciate those who failed in academics, lost in basic disciplines of upbringing in life, such as bunking school, breaking-away from their parents, but later built an empire, financially.  One, such easy-indisciplined life is very easy to adapt. Two, our aspirations of becoming the world’s most richest, in spite of fewer rules, make it easier to cling to such role-models. Not many understand that it is providence that these characters have reached up in life, lest they speak of their unsung rigour and discipline.

Commitment, Discipline and Values are very basic tenets and sure ways to success. Success in the eyes of people, especially the ones we discussed earlier, may vary.  If one does not want to die out of depression, deceit or any other acts of fallacy, one should stick to the basic tenets dictated by  Commitment and Discipline. The heights – in economic terms may not be as laudable as for the ‘Successes’ other side.  Be assured, one would have lived life of fulfillment in one’s own terms – without running away from responsibilities, or near and dear.

Please do not think that I am biased, negative or un-conceivably bad.  I am more like the Terence Fletcher from the movie Whiplash. Old school, thinking that ‘Good Job’ will compromise growth and bring in ‘complacency’. Like a person in the Treta Yug, very bound by both Principles and Rules (Ram) than the one in Sat Yug,  Rules go for a toss, Principles – somewhat addressed (Krishna) [Reference: Devdutt Pattanaik – Business Sutra] .Many may find that I am too harsh on myself.

I am not a Soothsayer, na..   Think of Kushwant Singh. I respect this man for his choice  and articulation about the forbidden topics. Extraordinary.  I too feel that I am discussing what I feel worth an intellectual debate amongst open-minded scholars, who are matured enough to distinguish the original from fake.

Look back at History.  World was no different few decades ago, when it comes to grooming success from the rot. This has been the fashion for times, from Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, Kamaraj and name anyone.  The differences now is that the modern ‘Hits’ stand  less on values and more on commercial successes. Somehow, I failed to join this bandwagon of soothsayers. I admit that I have attempted to become one, but failed miserably. I speak my mind, and rather that is what I am destined to.

Success seems to be a very addictive substance, more than marijuana. It seems to me that we are abusing this substance rather too much. Think of the ruling governments who wish to brush everything under the carpet, and feverishly propogate that every event including the rise and fall of the sun, is a result of their decisions and actions.  On the opposite, there is a shittiest business from the opposition parties, who vehemently negate and disapprove even the most appropriate actions that happen. The opposition is happier to state such obvious evils as their success.  Then, there are the higher-ups in social and corporate echelons, who want to listen only the ones they want to hear and rubbish the rest. Then, there are many of us, singing hymns in-spite-of our tastes and judgement pointing the other way.

I am told that the human eye can differentiate not ’50 shades of grey’, but more more than a 100. I would like to keep this debate open, and leave it to your discretion on to decide what is right or wrong, black or white, or for some shades of grey.

But, am I a Soothsayer*, Na..

Soothsayer*

According to Merriam-Webster

The origins are straightforward: asoothsayer is someone who says sooth.
