Upraisal

Bad Appraisal Cycle can bring down Political Parties, Why not Companies then.

Congress has gone through a very bad appraisal cycle.

Hard to believe, check the news on Narayan Rane. In his own words, “it’s been 9 years. All have become CMs but me”. His angst against the party cannot be misplaced, given his stature inside and outside party lines and in the political arena as a whole. But “who cares”, is the attitude shown by Congress. There is little doubt then that the Congress Party is bound to suffer. The party seems to have taken its members for granted.

Companies too, on the same lines, tend to take its resources, especially the vintage ones, forever granted. Perception is generally that, for them resale value is low and so, they stay. Companies do not see them grow in capacity and fail to acknowledge anything at all. Every quarter the Bosses would sing the growth song and each one would have to Raise Up and dance. Come Appraisal time, no matter what you choose to show case, your graph will be seen as one eternally descending valley. Such talks will also be termed good negotiating skills as seen by the higher ones.

Better then who is stopping you from leaving, one may ask. With more understanding, tendency is to like what one does and add deft to the act. Grows with it a deep love and comfort and an ability to deliver faster and better than anyone in comparable terms. Not to mention, knowing the culture inside out, help in many ways than one. Setting all strengths aside, long tenured are seen as the most dispensable resources.

IF

Those that realize value of time take pains to sever the ties on time, before the term sours.

Else if

smart enough, negotiate to their advantage and gain heights.

Else,

would make it bitter for themselves and to those around them, making a sad picture, while waiting for an UPRAISAL.
