My Company
When I was a baby
And days were more snoozy;
The table fan and the light above
Gave my nights a company.
Forgetting they were long-lost
For years and months far apart,
When families got-together
Elders bragged about each other
When my parents gave up their snorts
My cousins became company of sorts.
As birds of a flock we found each other
Close to heart and more than a brother.
As I came out to play,
Then made dolls from clay,
A friend came at my behest
Thus began his nice company.
Lighter and slimmer than me though
Another friend when I was low;
During days when I went to my school-
Or other places where I went with drool;
On the long lanes riding was so funny
My Bi-cycle was my Company.
Life took turns well out of strife
Moonlit nights, came along a wife
She stood me through kith and kin
That’s a war where both shall win
It’s lovely life with my honey
Who is my beloved Company
As friends departed to different direction
And I graduated into a serious profession
Be it to learn better tricks of trade
Or here I am, the sought after comrade
Supporting me for my motives
Giving a vision – strengthening my values
While churning my skills of today
Planning for my tomorrows
Pooling thoughts to ponder
Thinking decades and yonder
My workout kit or morning walks
Or through the mobile that talks
Now, My Company
Is My Company.
Awesome sir I can also relate to this short but meaningful poem.
Very encouraging.
