White Swan : The Goodness Game

The Concept

The Black Swan is a book by Nassim Nicholas Taleb on the impact of highly improbable. One interpretation is that we make more loud noises on the highly improbable negative events but make lesser or no claims on the highly probable and abundant positive events. Kindness – amongst fellow human beings – being one. Thus, the title, White Swan.

Inspiration

Many movies and games of recent times have resorted to vulgar and violent depiction, highlighting the negative side of the human being, taking sadistic pleasures from human losses. On the contrary, positives are aplenty but under-reported. Games are most engaging when it comes to community networking, which we have witnessed throughout the school, college days and continue to see it in our neighbourhood activities.

Backdrop

Good News is being under-reported. Bad News is over-shadowing the Goods. Abundance of kindness amongst us, the people, societies and communities need to be portrayed as much as to channelized into more positive energies and to engage us all into acts of common good of the society. In the absence of positive propaganda, negatives seem to have over-grown the Good that prevails in every society. Thinking of a way to propagate The Goodness, games are considered the best method. Hence, this sport of channelizing and networking of all kind-hearted and fun-loving souls to conduct a common good for the society and work towards the larger perspective and humanity around the globe.

Game

This Game consists of innumerable stages of play, each culminating with An Act of Goodness, which brings with it Badges or Trophies to celebrate at every such milestone. Badges and Trophies that one can flaunt through social media such as facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc. *In order to avoid any untoward incidents, or security breach, please ensure only the required details (Name, Mobile Number, email id) are shared and not more. Design and Development of the Game shall go on in phased manner. In the core, The Act elements/ activities include

· Planting of trees

· Visiting orphanages

· Visiting old age homes

· Meeting old/long lost friends/relations/teachers/well-wishers

· Openly appreciating colleagues (*Name and event / incident will help – not to disclose too much into personal details)

Objective

The objective is two-fold:

(1) Propagate The Goodness amongst the members of the Society in letter and spirit.

(2) Develop a community of well-networked Samaritans for all the societal needs.

Players

Every segment of the society will and must be covered by the designs. Of course, abiding by the law of the land, minors will not be engaged in Acts of Blood Donation, and the likes.
